Here is the latest nutrient-dense smoothie favorite creation out of the McClure kitchen. From our home to yours….enjoy!

Green Superfood Smoothie
Serves 1

Ingredients:
1/2 cup coconut water
3/4 cup almond milk – homemade or organic, unsweetened plain store-bought
1 scoop Garden of Life Raw Protein Powder or your personal preference
1 Tablespoon Hemp seeds
1 Tablespoon Chia seeds
1 Tablespoon Maca (optional)
1 large handful of spinach

Directions:
Blend with 3/4-1 cup ice – add more coconut water for desired consistency.

Note: Add 1/2 or less frozen banana for thicker, creamier consistency.

Coconut water: carbs, electrolytes, potassium, good for hydration

Almond milk: carbs, protein, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, Vitamin A, D, B-12

Protein powder: protein

Hemp seeds: protein, amino acids, 3:1 ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fat, zinc, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, antioxidants such as Vitamin E

Chia seeds: In 2 tablespoons: 11 grams fiber, 4 grams protein, 9 grams fat (5 of which are omega-3s), 18% RDA calcium, 30% RDA manganese, 30% RDA magnesium, 27% RDA phosphorus, and a decent amount of zinc, Potassium, Vitamins B1, B2, b3

Maca: Maca includes 55 phyto-chemicals, including vitamins B1, B2, B12, and Vitamin C, zinc. It has amino acids, calcium and phosphorus as well. Energy boost.

Spinach: In order of amounts from most to least: Vitamin K, Vitamin A, manganese, folate, magnesium, iron, copper, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B6, Vitamin E, calcium, potassium, Vitamin C, fiber, phosphorus, Vitamin B1, zinc, protein, choline, omega-3s, Vitamin B3, pantothenic acid, selenium
